=== Thoughts ===
Every so often I think back to when I played mobile RPGs a little more and, consequently, get sad about the state of video game preservation.
With one exception (and even then I'm not sure it's long for this world), the mobile RPGs I've gotten into have shuttered. They are:
- Dragalia Lost
- Dissidia: Opera Omnia
- NieR Reincarnation
- Fire Emblem: Heroes (the only one left standing)
Honourable mention to SINoALICE, a game that I got very into literally days before it went out of service.
It's sad to see those games go, but there have been attempts to preserve them. Dragalia Lost has a private server. Creative Uncut has done an excellent job preserving the character art of these games, which contain some of my favourite designs ever. Shout-outs to Gunner Ext. Cinderella, Divergent Zero, and both Abyssal and Bloody Akeha, to name just four. There are full game "movies" on YouTube, but the experience of playing them is gone, and that is cause to grieve for me.
Fingers crossed some brave soul with the know-how revives them, or the studios do the right thing and make offline versions.
Was this just an excuse to gush about character designs I like? Maybe. Have Resplendent Micaiah as a parting treat.
