I'm coming to the end of the holiday period now, and so I'm beginning to gird myself for the return to the world of work. It's a trivial concern, all things considered, but a necessary one either way.
Today finds me in a particularly sombre mood because I've just finished reading, too late, Omar El Akkad's One Day, Everyone Will Have Been Against This. It's a necessary read, in the shadow of the genocide in Gaza and the escalating attack on Iran, but not an easy one. Being forced to look in the mirror often is.
